Senior Consultant/Managing Director
Johan Wennström has been working together with Brakeley since 2005 when Brakeley and Mira Network formed a partnership. Since 2010 he has also worked as a Senior Associate Consultant in Brakeley’s client projects, and became Managing Director of Brakeley Nordic later the same year.

Johan co-founded Mira Network in 1998 (IT solutions for external relations in higher education). Before joining Brakeley he helped a large number of Nordic universities with external relations, especially alumni relations (e.g. Karolinska Institutet, University of Oslo, NHH, Hanken and Stockholm School of Economics).
Johan Wennström has often been invited as a speaker to Nordic conferences regarding fundraising and alumni relations, for instance: Norwegian Alumni Conference in Bergen 2004, Nordic Alumni and Development Network (NARN) in Oslo 2006 and Helsinki 2007, Finnish Alumni Conference in Lappeenranta 2010, CASE Europe in 2012, and The European Forum for Historic Sites in Kalmar in 2014. He has initiated Sweden’s first open training course on major gift fundraising, which was organized for the first time in the spring of 2015.
Born and raised in Stockholm (Sweden), Johan Wennström has a M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics and ESADE in Barcelona. He has lived in Helsinki for almost two years, but moved back to Stockholm with his wife and two children in 2011.
