Olof re-joined Brakeley in 2018, having previously worked at the Brakeley Ltd. Nordic branch office in 2008-2010. Before returning to Brakeley, Olof worked for a brief period as a strategist at the newly formed department for research, education and development at Stockholm Health Care Services, one of Sweden’s largest health care providers.
He spent 8 years at the Knowledge Foundation in Stockholm, one of Sweden’s largest research funding organizations. Initially, he worked there as program manager of different funding programs. After a year-long leave of absence for work as a non-political officer at the Swedish Government Offices, he was tasked with establishing a new staff function at the Foundation, responsible for board relations, strategic intelligence and leadership level target group dialogue. During his stint at the Government Offices, he was responsible for matters concerning the European Institute of Innovation and Technology during the concluding phases of the Horizon 2020 negotiations, including coordination and formulation of Sweden’s negotiation position. He was also responsible for matters concerning research and higher education at the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications.
Prior to joining Brakeley Ltd. in 2008, Olof worked as a management consultant in the fields of organizational development, strategy and competitive intelligence. He has also been involved with several non-profit organizations as a board member and advisor in the fields of humanitarian work, education and mentoring.
Olof has advised Brakeley clients Stockholm University (Sweden), The Norwegian University of Life Sciences (Norway), Umeå University (Sweden), Örebro University (Sweden), RATIO Research Institute (Sweden), the Swedish Publishers’ Association (Sweden) and Johannelund School of Theology (Sweden).
He holds a M.Sc. in Business and Economics and a University Diploma in Business Law from Lund University. In Lund, he was employed as a research assistant at the Department of Business Administration and during his years at the Knowledge Foundation he was a research associate within the Centre for Knowledge Governance Studies, based at Lund University’s Research Policy Institute. He has earned professional development certificates from Cornell University, Harvard Kennedy School and The Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research (at the Harvard School of Public Health).
Born and raised in Lund (Sweden), Olof also lived and studied in Huskvarna (Sweden) and Madison, Wisconsin (USA) growing up. During his university years he spent a semester studying Spanish in Spain. A proud father of two, he lives in southern Stockholm.
