Johan Wennström, Managing Director
Johan Wennström has been working together with Brakeley since 2005, and became Managing Director of Brakeley Nordic in 2010.
Johan Wennström has advised Brakeley clients such as Aalto University (Finland), ActionAid (Sweden), GIH (Sweden), Grafikens Hus (Sweden), IVA (Sweden), Kyiv School of Economics (Ukraine), Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU, Sweden), Tom Tits Experiment (Sweden), University of Helsinki (Finland), University of Oslo (Norway), University of Oulu (Finland), and WWF (Sweden).
Johan Wennström co-founded Mira Network in 1998 (IT solutions for external relations in higher education). Before joining Brakeley he helped a large number of Nordic universities with external relations, especially alumni relations (e.g. Karolinska Institutet, University of Oslo, NHH, Hanken and Stockholm School of Economics).
Inger Stern, Senior Consultant
Inger Stern joined Linköping University in 2003 to set up their fundraising operations. As Fundraising Director at Linköping University, she managed one of the first capital campaigns among multi faculty universities in Sweden. The campaign, called Expanding Excellence, exceeded its target of raising 250 MSEK and ended in 2010.
At Brakeley Inger has advised clients such as WWF, University of Helsinki, Malmö University, St. Erik Eye Hospital, Blomsterfonden and Mälardalen University.
Elisabet Jansson Strömberg, Senior Associate Consultant
Between 2003-2013, Elisabet worked as Communication and Fundraising Director at the Swedish Sea Rescue Society. She helped define the brand strategy, implemented it throughout the organization and worked internally and externally with communication. Aligned with the brand strategy Elisabet also set up the fundraising operation and led many campaigns over the years, as well as the donor relationship program which focuses on long term relationship and dialog with members and donors.
Elisabet has worked with clients such as IM Individuell Människohjälp and UNICEF (Norway).
Åsa Formo, Consultant
Åsa joined Brakeley Nordic in 2016. She previously worked with fundraising, communication and process development 2013-2016 for Blomsterfonden, a NGO working with elderly care and senior housing. Åsa also has experience from the educational sector as a co-founder and board member of a independent primary school in Stockholm and had the educational sector as research and focus area in her M.A. in Anthropology 2013. Before that she worked for a number of years at Apple, managing Customer Relations and Service in the Nordic countries and UK.
As consultant with Brakeley, Åsa has worked with clients such as Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), University of Helsinki (Finland), Mälardalen University, St Erik Eye Hospital and WWF.
Peter Rohmée, Senior Adviser
Peter Rohmée has worked with major gift fundraising since 1995. He started working with Brakeley 2005 and was head of the Nordic division until 2010. Peter has a background within United Nations and World Maritime University.
Some examples of clients that Peter Rohmée has worked with are Lund University, Hanken School of Economics, KTH, Stockholm University, Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation, Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and Karolinska Institutet (where he also assumed an interim management role for eight months).
Merike Ronéus, Senior Associate Consultant
Merike Ronéus led the Development Office at Uppsala University between 2006 and 2010. Her main responsibilities were strategic relation building and major gift fundraising for the entire university.
Merike´s academic background is from Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), where she became Doctor in Veterinary Medicine in 1983 and PhD in Medicine in 1992. During 1984 to 1992 she undertook teaching, clinical practice and research at SLU.
Merike has worked on Brakeley projects for ActionAid, Lilla Akademien, Karlstad University, Jönköping University, Stockholm University and SLU.
John Kelly, Senior Adviser
John Kelly has been a fundraising consultant since 1990 and has been President of the international Brakeley group for most of that time. He has extensive professional contacts in the US, Europe, the Middle East and East Asia. He has been a Board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), headquartered in Virginia (USA), and of the Association of Fundraising Consultants in the UK (AFC). Before becoming a consultant, John Kelly headed Regent’s College, London.
John Kelly set up Brakeley’s operations in the Nordic region in 1993, with Chalmers University of Technology as the first client. Other clients that John Kelly have helped include Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, l’Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium), and Harvard Law School.
